Recognised for her "thrilling live performances and dazzling technique," Charlotte Rowan is a recitalist at concert venues and music festivals across the UK. She is well-known for giving recitals at many of the country's finest cathedrals including Ely, Chichester, Winchester, Manchester, Southwark, Chelmsford, and St Mary’s, Edinburgh. In America, she has performed for Justice Sonia Sotomayor of the US Supreme Court and appeared on the Washington Performing Arts Series.


Born in Scotland, Charlotte was accepted age 16 to study at the Peabody Conservatory in Baltimore from where she graduated with high honours.

Her teachers have included Professor Jerre Gibson, Violaine Melancon, Stephanie Gonley, Ofer Falk and she has received coachings from groups such as the Juilliard String Quartet and performed in a masterclass for renowned violinist Midori.


Based near London, Charlotte continues to be passionate about bringing the violin repertoire to as wide an audience as possible. She is also a dedicated teacher, working as violin tutor and ensembles coach for Perse School and Leys School in Cambridge and King's Ely.


She currently plays a German violin by Fridolin Rusch of Memmingen, Bavaria.

Charlotte Stevenson enjoys a varied career as a pianist, singer and harpist. She gained her LRAM Diploma studying piano with Mary Moore and Janette Lamb. In recent years, Charlotte has been the regular accompanist for Charlotte Rowan performing throughout the UK.  Charlotte has the rare distinction of her teacher - Janette Lamb - having been taught by a pupil of Clara Schumann.
